Neal pulls through for 731 with walk-off hit

SIKESTON -- Here are Thursday's results from Sikeston Area Youth Baseball:


Burger King 6, Legion 2

Drury was 2-for-3 with an RBI, leading Burger King to victory. Trevino was 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Bohannon, Pierce and Drury all pitched in the win. For the Legion, Ramey was 2-for-3. Lamey was charged with the loss.

Lewis 9, House of Color 4

Gilmore was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, leading Lewis to a 9-4 win. Hart picked up the win, allowing two hits and five walks with four strikeouts. For House of Color, Boswell was 1-for-3 with an RBI. Brittain, Lambert and Bohannon all threw in the loss.


Steward 22, Blanchard 9

Steward Steel plated 16 runs in the second inning, whitewashing Blanchard 22-9. Carlyle led the offensive explosion, batting 3-for-5 with three RBIs. Rice was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Carlyle, Pipkin, Anderson, Davis and Rice all pitched in the win. For Blanchard, Brown blasted a home run in the fourth inning. Hampton and Copeland were both 2-for-3. Brown, Gilliland, Hampton and Copeland all threw in the loss.

Old Security 12, Fabrite 2

Old Security saw hits from Hatcher, Birdwell, Hodgekiss, McClung and Harris. Lambert and Hodgekiss both pitched for the squad.

Fabrite saw hits from Pruitt, Mayfield, McDowell and O'Guinn. Kindle and Mayfield both threw in the loss.


731 Realty 4, First Midwest 3

Zach Neal provided the game winning hit in 731's thrilling 4-3 win over First Midwest. With three strikes and two outs, Neal crushed the ball down the right field foul line to score Luke Keefer for the victory.

Keefer finished the day 3-for-3 while Neal went 2-for-3. Other hits came from Tyler Anderson, Nick Nichols, Tommy Masterson, Spence Vaughn and Zach Neal. For First Midwest, left fielder Aleah Little made a spectacular catch in the fourth inning. She finished the day 1-for-2 with an RBI. First Midwest saw two hits each from Clayton Driskill, Trent McMillian and Cory Evans.

Sikeston Motors 10, Ferguson 6

Blake Angle was 4-for-4, and Kyle Reeves was 2-for-3 with four RBIs, leading Sikeston Motors to a 10-6 win. Login Riggins, Nicholas Starks and Adam Cooksey had three hits each. Ferguson saw hits from Trey Tigert, Justin Deer, Brady Glaus, Bryan Howell, Kaleb Smith and Logan Hawkins.

Ponder 7, D&S 5

Ponder Funeral Home saw hits from Ben Walker, Ian Meeks, Ryan Vanover, Layton Davis and Andrew Hicks. D&S saw hits from Josh Alsup, Kaiden, Kyle Moore, Ben Hunter and Alex Elsey.
