Born April 28, 1911, in Barlow, Ky., daughter of the late George Washington and Mary Edna Blanks Jones, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston. She owned and operated a beauty shop from 1936 until 1994 and was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Club. Jones had been a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Sikeston, was a member of Eagles Aerie 3319 and served as a volunteer in selling tickets for the Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet, Kenny Rogers Children's Center Annual Telethon Banquet the Big Brother/Big Sister Annual Friendly Roast and many other community charitable events. In many events, she was the top ticket salesperson.
She leaves no known survivors.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. David Jackson of the First Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Mike Parker, Jim Barnes, Richard Menz, Bob Depro, Thomas Brack and Dennis Ziegenhorn.
