HERNANDO, Miss. - Mr. and Mrs. William Whitten Ballard have announced the engagement of their daughter, Margaret Elizabeth, to David McClain Raffety of Memphis, Tenn., son of John Ulysses Raffety of Germantown, Tenn., and Mrs. Richard Lawrence Bach of Cordova, Tenn.
The future bride is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Mills Eugene Barbee and Mr. and Mrs. Alley Stephen Ballard. A graduate of Magnolia Heights School in Senatobia, she graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in English from the University of Mississippi, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She is a regional sales manager with Schwan's Food Service.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Theon Francis Grojean of Sikeston, Mo., and the late Ulysses Grant Raffety and Mr. and Mrs. John Francis Rolwing of Wyatt. Also a graduate of St. Benedict Academy in Cordova, he will graduate in December from the University of Memphis with a bachelor of business administration degree.
The couple will exchange wedding vows in a 7:30 p.m. ceremony on Sept. 28 at the First Presbyterian Church in Hernando.
