Kimes-Sullenger wedding

PORTAGEVILLE - Amy Renee Kimes and Robert Timothy Sullenger exchanged wedding vows in a 1 p.m. ceremony Dec. 29, 2001, at St. Eustachius Catholic Church before the Rev. Henry Grodecki. Laura Schwendemann of Portageville, cousin of the bride, served as lector.

Red poinsettias and Christmas trees illuminated with white lights adorned the sanctuary.

Music for the occasion was provided by Tammy Thurman of Dexter.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Kimes of Portageville and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Kimes, Rosemary Duggins and the late Bob Duggins. Her great-grandmothers are Grace DeLisle and Effie Kimes of Portageville.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Sullenger of Lilbourn and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garner and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Sullenger.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white matte satin gown designed by Alfred Angelo. The sleeveless princess line tank bodice was encrusted with pearls and crystals. Also accented with pearls and crystals, the satin box pleated skirt flowed into a semi-cathedral train. She carried a bridal bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.

Kristen Kimes of Portageville attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Sara Knittel of Eureka, Kristen Mathus of Glendale, Julie Kemner of Columbia and Heather Murrell of Portageville. They wore floor length two-piece claret satin gowns and carried bouquets of red roses, baby's breath and fuschia heather.

Cassie Hartlein, cousin of the bridegroom, was flower girl. Her floor length claret dress featured a velvet sleeveless top and satin skirt, and she carried a basket filled with miniature red roses.

Joseph McClarty of Lilbourn served his friend as best man. Groomsmen were Chris Allen of St. Louis, Brad Milam of Jonesboro, Ark., Steve Emery of Kansas City and Brian Box of Risco.

The bridegroom chose a single-breasted black tuxedo with white vest and bow tie. His ensemble was completed with a white rose and baby's breath boutonniere. The groomsmen wore single-breasted tuxedos with black vests and bow ties and their single red roses with fuschia heather boutonnieres completed their attire.

Ushers were Ron Allen Kimes of Portageville, brother of the bride; Steven Hall of New Madrid, cousin of the bridegroom; Eric Hill of Portageville, future brother-in-law of the bride; and Allen Hartig of St. Charles, friend of the bridegroom. They wore single-breasted tuxedos with black vests and bow ties with single red rose boutonnieres.

The reception was held at Rebecca Sharp's in New Madrid.

A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the bridegroom's parents, was held at Rivers in New Madrid.

Following a honeymoon to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla., the couple is making their home in Hermitage, Tenn.

The bride is a disability claims examiner for the State of Tennessee and the bridegroom is an accountant with McClarty and Associates Certified, Public Accounts, PC in Nashville.
