SIKESTON - Joseph A. Munger Jr., 67, died Sept. 2, 2007, at his home.

Born June 7, 1940, at Cape Girardeau, to the late Joseph A. and Decima Parrish Munger Sr., he taught at Sikeston Public Schools from 1971 to 1999. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of First United Methodist Church, a member and past master of Sikeston Masonic Lodge No. 310, an amateur radio operator and a member of Sikeston R.C. Flyers.

On Aug. 2, 1969, he married Brenda Duncan who survives of the home.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jonathan Munger of Sikeston and Mark Munger of Bolivar; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ruth Munger of East Prairie; his mother-in-law, Cleta Duncan of New Madrid; and three nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Geoff Posegate, senior pastor of First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery in New Madrid.

Pallbearers will be: Bill Bollinger, Bob Buchanan, Bob Depro, Gerald Jackson, Ron James, Gary Johnson, Jim Mills and Larry Nickell.
