Born Nov. 8, 1946, in Bloomfield, son of the late Lawrence and Claudine Morse Monroe, he lived in the Bloomfield area most of his life. He was a member of Dexter Elks Lodge 2439 and a charter member of the Dexter Eagles Club.
On June 24, 1989, he married Shelby Green who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one stepdaughter, Shelia Watson of Bloomfield; one brother, Will Monroe of Dexter; one sister, Audrey Jackson of Bloomfield; and two stepgrandchildren and four stepgreat-grandchildren.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home where an Elks service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bob Wiggins officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walker Cemetery.
