ST. LOUIS - Marie Kinder, 97, formerly of Dexter, died Aug. 26, 2005, at the Des Peres Hospital in St. Louis.

Born Aug. 19, 1908, in Zalma to the late Lee and Clara Morgan Kinder Peterson, she had resided in Dexter most of her adult life, moving to St. Louis in 1989. She was a retired employee of the Elder Manufacturing Co. where she worked as a machine operator and was a member of the Dexter Church of Christ.

On Dec. 12, 1931, at Bloomfield, she married Frank Kinder who preceded her in death on Jan. 7, 1977.

Surviving are: two daughters, Janice Ingalls and Annice Schlattman of St. Louis; five grandchildren and their spouses, Steven and Cara Ingalls of Lansing, Kan., Kerry and Leesa Ingalls of Honolulu, Hawaii, Mary and Scott Krebs of Centreville, Va., and Jeff and Debbie Schlattman and Julie and Chris Burton of St. Louis; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Dale Grissom of Dexter will officiate.

Burial will be in the Hagy Cemetery in Dexter.
