MALDEN - Chalmer Ray Elsworth, 66, died March 19, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 13, 1935, at Bernie, son of the late Homer Cleveland and Madgie Bell Partin Elsworth, he was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Bernie. He retired as an inside truck driver for Elmhurst Chicago Stone in Elmhurst, Ill.
On Aug. 24, 1956, at Bernie, he married Doris Jean Boone who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Reggie Ray Elsworth of Gideon, Robert Wayne Elsworth of Parma and Kevin Dale Elsworth of Malden; two daughters, Regina Kay Carmickle of Hinckley, Ill., and Pamela Jean Smith of Gideon; two brothers, Glendle Elsworth of Malden and Hershel Elsworth of Dexter; three sisters, Louise Hobgood of Bernie and Laurissa Brandon and Brenda Brown of Dexter; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leon Elsworth; two sisters, Linda Elsworth and Donis Elsworth; and one granddaughter, Dawn Marie Elsworth.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Bernie, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Jim Esque will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Bernie Cemetery.
