BERNIE -- Leslie F. Cox, 58, died April 17, 2005, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 19, 1946, at Dexter, son of the late Floyd and Marjorie Fellows Cox Sr., he was a lifelong resident of Stoddard County. A 1964 graduate of Dexter High School, he was drafted in to the U.S. Marine Corps and served in Vietnam, attaining the rank of lance corporal before being honorably discharged in 1972. He worked for many years as a financial officer at Richardson-Wynette Motors in Malden.
On March 25, 1978, at Dexter, he married Brenda Barrett who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sisters, Doris Nelson, Elfreda Cox and Cathy Starnes of Dexter; one brother, Floyd Cox Jr. of Boyton Beach, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Two brothers, Morris Leroy Cox and B.J. Cox, also preceded him in death.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Rainey-Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Susan Marner-Sides will officiate.
Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with full military rites provided by the Stoddard County Military Honors Guard.
