SIKESTON - Sikeston residents interested in serving on one of the city's boards or commissions may now add their name to the list via the Internet.
Linda Lowes, director of governmental services, advised city council members during their regular meeting Monday that 36 positions on city boards and commissions will require their review and action. She asked them to make the appointments during the Sept. 5 regular city council meeting.
A listing of positions to be considered, term lengths, qualifications, existing appointees and persons interested in specific positions was delivered to council for review.
Lowes said applications for the Citizen Resource Bank can now be filled out and submitted on the Internet at www.sikeston.org or even over the phone.
Paper application forms are still be available at City Hall, the Sikeston Library, the Sikeston Housing Authority, and at local banks as in previous years. Applications will be accepted at the city manager's office through the end of August.
New appointments are slated for the Board of Adjustments, BOCA Board, Library Board, Park Board, Planning and Zoning Commission, DPS Advisory Board, Rental Housing Ordinance Review Board, TIF Commission, Traffic Committee and Housing Authority Board.
Positions will also be open on the Sikeston Area Higher Education Center Advisory Council.
