CHAFFEE -- The Portageville Bulldogs posted another blowout win on Friday night, defeating SEMO South foe Chaffee 46-6 on the road.

Portageville allowed its first points of the year, but the Bulldogs still were in complete control of the game, leading 27-6 at the half.

"We played well in the first half," said Chaffee head coach Alan Horrell, whose team falls to 0-4. "Portageville's fundamentally sound and they have a good ball team. You can't make mistakes against them and we did. That's what beat us tonight."

The Bulldogs (3-0) racked up 337 yards of offense led by Kyle Ezell's 8-carry, 136-yard game with three touchdowns.

Antonio Scott followed up with 90 yards on six carries with a score while Aaron Bidewell had 64 yards on eight carries with a score.

All but seven of the Bulldogs' 337 yards was on the ground.

"Chaffee was all bunched up in the middle," said Portageville head coach Jim McKay. "If we got outside on them then we were able to get big gains."

Quarterback Lance Penn made his return to action after being injured all season. He debuted with a touchdown pass on his only attempt when he found Danny Scherer for a 7-yard score.

The Bulldogs' other touchdown was by Movina Minnis, who stripped a Chaffee ball-carrier and returned it 40 yards for a touchdown.

Chaffee's only score came on a pass play to James Reischman, who had a game-high 76 yards receiving on four catches.

Red Devil quarterback Sam Burnett was 8-for-14 for 97 yards with an interception.

"We started out a little sluggish," said McKay. "We gave up the TD pass in the first quarter. We got to see a lot of passes and that will help us coming up."

Portageville will host Kennett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Chaffee will play at Scott City on Friday.
