Born April 14, 1917, at Benton, Mo., daughter of the late Ben F. and Norma Pauline Tirmenstein Adams, she was a secretary for the Scott County School District for 26 years. She was a member of the Benton United Methodist Church.
On Nov. 15, 1939, at Benton, she married William Hess Porter who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2002.
Survivors include: one son, William David Porter of Memphis, Tenn.; one daughter, Peggy Ann James of Norman, Okla.; one brother, Ben Adams of Cape Girardeau; one grandchild, Shannon Porer of Atoka; and one great-grandchild, Devon Porter.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Benton.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Benton United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jack Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley, Mo.
