MOREHOUSE - The phone rang Jan. 28, but when Shirley Greer picked it up, no one was on the other end. It rang again. Her daughter, Polly Ann Buis, was calling from Clay City, Ind. Greer and her daughter spoke, hesitantly, for the first time. The telephone connection joined mother and daughter for the first time since Polly Ann was three days old. This was nearly 25 years ago in Martinsville, Ind. "I gave her up at birth," Greer explained. Greer was divorced when Polly was born. "I had strict parents, no money and no place to take her. I had to." Mother and daughter met for a family reunion Feb. 7 in Clay City, Ind.
