SIKESTON -- A Sikeston teen is in custody after a shooting and car chase in Sikeston on Monday.
Brandon M. Johnson was arrested Tuesday by officers with the Charleston Department of Public Safety. Johnson is charged with four counts of first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. His bond is set at $50,000.
The arrest stems from an incident that began at just after 4 p.m. Monday. According to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, officers responded to Jaycee and Adams streets for a report of shots fired from a moving vehicle.
Witnesses were able to provide a description of the cars and possible names of several suspects. Information given to officers indicated that a small red car was chasing a white mid-sized car.
A short time later two victims from the white car came to Sikeston DPS headquarters and reported they were shot at as they were riding in their car with two small children on Jaycee Street. Through their statements and other eyewitness accounts, arrest warrants were issued for Johnson by Scott County Prosecutor Paul Boyd.
