Lelan Pointer

SWARTZ CREEK, Mich. - Lelan J. "Peewee" Pointer, 73, formerly of Bernie, Mo., died Nov. 17, 2004, at the University Hospital in Tampa, Fla.

Born May 16, 1931, in Bernie, son of the late Ginger and Jewell Allison Pointer, he retired as a supervisor for General Motors in Flint.

He and Helen M. Tuggle were married at Piggott, Ark., and she survives of the home.

Other survivors include: one son, Steve Pointer of Tampa; two daughters, Brenda Liebengood and Trisha Pointer of Swartz Creek; one brother, Myrl Pointer of Flint; one sister, Willetta Klineschmidt of Festus, Mo.; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be conducted at a later date in Swartz Creek.

Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, Mo., is in charge of local arrangements.
