SIKESTON - A recital was given Thursday by pupils of Mrs. Ralph Anderson in her home. Those performing were: Billie Gillespie, Leo Fisher, Tommy Kendig, Davie Bowman, Don Dale, John Harper, Jane Bowman, Shirley Alton, Charlotte Taft, Mary Nell Van Bibber and Graham Sadler.

SIKESTON - Christmas Seals will be mailed in Scott County, thanks to the efforts of a group of students who gathered Friday night in St. Paul's Episcopal parish hall. This mailing and stuffing group is sponsored by the Civil Air Patrol. The group will mail 7,500 sets of Christmas Seals for the Tuberculosis Association.

SIKESTON - A downtown parking plan for the handicapped and elderly, and the results of the Department of Public Safety's neighborhood surveys will be reviewed at the 8 a.m. Thursday "Breakfast with the City" at Holiday Inn. Other discussions will include a DPS officer training program and the proposed municipal swimming pool.

NEW MADRID - An auction will begin at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Knights of Columbus building in the Villa Shopping Center. Included in the auction, sponsored by Immaculate Conception Church of New Madrid, will be donated items including furniture, crafts, antiques and household items. Proceeds will benefit a Parish Center building fund established by the parish.

CHARLESTON - The King's Highway Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Charleston. Betty Hearnes will lead the choir in a special musical program. Members are reminded to bring their clothing donations for the DAR schools.
