NEW MADRID - Miss Carol Kimball, 21, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Barney Kimball, New Madrid, was chosen queen of the New Madrid Fall Festival last night from a group of 21 contestants. Miss Sandra McCanless, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.G. McCanless, Sikeston, was selected first runner-up while Miss Hazel Mae Bolten, 15, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bolten, New Madrid, was named second runner-up.

SIKESTON - Everett "Slim" Wiss of Mitchell-Sharp Chevrolet Co., 127 W. Center St., was awarded a GM Corporation certificate for his satisfactory completion of the Conference for Professional Salesmen at the Memphis General Motors Training Center this week.

SIKESTON - This week has been proclaimed National School Lunch Week and the Sikeston Public School cooks prepared the universal menu consisting of spaghetti, tossed salad, rolls, fruit and cookies.

SIKESTON - Gina Williams and her guests were treated to a meal and birthday cake at McDonald's in celebration of her fifth birthday. She is the daughter of LaVern and Anita Williams, and granddaughter of Geneva Parker of Parma and the late Laut Parker.

SIKESTON - Brooke Danielle Smith, 2-year-old daughter of Micheal and Pamela Smith of Sikeston, was crowned queen in the 2- and 3-year-old age division of the Sunburst USA Pageant, which took place recently in Sikeston. The queen is scheduled to compete in the state pageant to be held at Jefferson City in May 1995.
