ZALMA - Ray A. Gramlisch, 77, died Oct. 13, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born Sept. 3, 1924, in Chaffee, son of the late John and Annie Sadler Gramlisch, he was a bricklayer for more than 61 years and attended the Assembly of God Church in Greenbrier.
A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he fought in the Battle of the Bulge and received four Bronze Stars and the Purple Heart.
On Feb. 9, 1946, in St. Louis, he married Lora Jones who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Danny Gramlisch of Advance; four daughters, Lola Howard of Advance, Glenda Lesch and Carolyn Lesch of Delta and Mary Lou Gramlisch of Zalma; three brothers, John Gramlisch and Lester Gramlisch of Chaffee and Bill Gramlisch of Delta; four sisters, Dorothy Menz and Edna Crowden of Chaffee, Emma Hanlon of Delta and Mary Ann Stoffregan of Advance; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter.
Services were conducted at 1 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance with the Rev. James Johns and the Rev. William Marshall, officiating.
Burial followed in Morgan Memorial Park.
