PENSACOLA, Fla. - Thomas Daniel Dollar, 70, formerly of Sikeston, Mo., died Oct. 23, 2004, in Florida.
Born Oct. 14, 1934, in Tippah County, Miss., he was raised in Sikeston and graduated in 1950 from Grayridge (Mo.) High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired in 1995 as plant manager for the Sikeston Power Plant after 37 years of service. After moving to Pensacola in 1998, he was a volunteer for the West Florida Hospital and member of the East Hill Baptist Church and men's Sunday school class.
His wife, Demetra Blalack Dollar, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son, Dr. Mark Thomas Dollar of New York, NY; three daughters, Deena Jean Werner of Atlanta, Linda Diane Casey of Imperial, Mo., and Cathy Lynn Nolan of Pensacola; two brothers, Kermit Dollar of Fort Lauderdale and Darryl Dollar of Otis Orchard, Wash.; three sisters, Lucille Rosier of Beach Island, S.C., Dorothy McDonald of the state of California and Janice Jones of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were conducted at 11 a.m. today at the Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel in Pensacola with the Rev. Rick Spencer and Dr. James Hackney officiating.
