CHARLESTON - Elmer Lee Vinson, 74, died at 10:45 p.m. Oct. 22, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Jan. 25, 1930, in Mississippi County, son of the late James Hershel and Minnie Kelley Vinson, he was a lifelong resident of Mississippi County. He was a truck driver for T&S Farms in Charleston.
On May 3, 1958, he married Margaret A. Golightly who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: three sons, Clifford Vinson of Salem, Ill., Broce Doyle of Charleston and William Doyle of Joplin; two daughters, Diann Vinson Guthrie of Oran and Pamela Vinson of Charleston; three sisters, Mary Trousdale and Ethel Trousdale of Charleston and Stella Mae Flint of Quinlin, Texas; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were one son, Ronald Lee Vinson; one grandson, James Leon Guthrie Jr.; one brother, George Vinson; and four sisters, Mattie Washer, Hattie Estes, Bonnie Ervin and Ardella Mathis.
Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Richard Farquhar of East Prairie will officiate.
Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston.
Pallbearers will be: Charles Maxwell, James Dixon, Scott Pazdera, Billy Tatum, Johnny Scott and Donald Sutton.
