EAST PRAIRIE - Paul David McLain, 64, died at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 12, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
Born Nov. 17, 1936, in East Prairie, son of the late Floyd F. and Annie M. Powers McLain, he lived in East Prairie most of his life. He was a department foreman for Watlow Electric in St. Louis and had lived in Overland before returning to East Prairie in 1988. A U.S. Army veteran and member of Overland Occidental Masonic Lodge 623 AF&AM, he attended the First Church of God in East Prairie.
On Dec. 18, 1988, he married Frances E. Givens who survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Alice McLain of East Prairie; one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Chuck Haley of St. Ann; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Carl and Mary McLain of St. Robert and James McLain of East Prairie; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rose Ann and C.J. Moore of East Prairie, Patricia and Ed Delfin of Branson and Janet Salazar of Fayetteville, Ark.; and three grandchildren, Darren O'Brien of St. Ann, Jeremy McLain of Germany and Sarah McLain Sherrod of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by one son, Paul D. McLain Jr.
Friends may call after 6 p.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home, where Charleston Masonic Lodge 407 AF&AM will conduct rites at 7 p.m.
Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Larry Smith and Bob Kespelher officiating.
Burial will follow in East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
