SIKESTON - Mildred Foster Sneed, 88, died at 9:25 p.m. Sept. 12, 2001, at her daughter's home in Greenwood, Miss.
Born July 6, 1913, in Scott County, daughter of the late James C. and Addie Joyce Foster, she graduated from Benton High School and lived in Scott County most of life. She was deputy recorder in Scott County for 11 years, served as president of the Scott County Women's Democratic Club and was a member of the New Savannah Baptist Church near Blodgett.
On Aug. 9, 1948, she married William Audie Sneed who preceded her in death on Dec. 12, 1983.
Survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, James Audie and Sue Sneed of Sikeston; one daughter and son-in-law, Sally Ann and David Lott of Greenwood; and five grandchildren, Grace Lott of Jackson, Miss., Anna Joyce Lott of Starkville, Miss., Kathy Sneed of Cape Girardeau and Les Sneed and John Sneed of Sikeston.
One brother and two sisters also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Friday at the IOOF Cemetery near Charleston. The Rev. Todd Smoot, pastor of the New Savannah Baptist Church, will officiate.
