Betty Mancell

SIKESTON - Betty Jean Mancell, 66, died at 2 p.m. Sept. 12, 2001, in Sikeston.

Born Oct. 30, 1934, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Bertha Wietzel Smith.

In 1958, in St. Louis she married James V. Mancell who survives of Greenup, Ill.

Other survivors include: two sons, Jim Bo Mancell of Pass Christian, Miss., and Charles Mancell of Sikeston; four daughters, Sandra M. Midkiff of Annapolis, Betty Jean Mancell of Jefferson City, Deborah Mancell of Gulfport, Miss., and Penny Eads of Williamsville; two brothers, Bobby Smith of Jefferson City and Sonny Smith of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three sisters, Shirley Staples and Mary Wood of Herculaneum and Barbara Miller of Mill Spring; and 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Johnny Smith, on Sept. 9, 2001; and one brother and two sisters.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Bob Burnes, pastor of House of Prayer General Baptist Church in Grant City, will officiate.

Burial will follow in the New Morley Cemetery at Morley.

Pallbearers will be: Charles Mancell, Eugene Mancell, Kenneth Mancell, Jim Bo Mancell Jr., Bobby Sexton and Michael Sutton Jr.
