Stinnett grabs checkered flag at SEMO Raceway

BLODGETT -- SEMO Raceway, near Blodgett, hosted one of its largest crowds ever Saturday night with 80 karts racing in the various classes, along with the A Class and Jr. Class of Micro Sprints, and a new class at SEMO, the Sportsman Class, 600 cc motors with a restrictor plate.

In the kart division, racing opened with the Stock Heavy Class. Kenny Lovins won the feature race, holding the kart of Dan Gairhan to a second place finish.

Lovins would race later in the Stock Medium Class finishing a very respectable second behind Garrett Gray. In the Stock Light Class, Curtis Stinnett managed to hand on to the lead, winning the feature race. Lovins took second.

Dan Gairhan would come back later to race in the Over 35, taking the feature win with Scott Bogle finishing second. The Jr. drivers would start with the Rookie Class, with Will Holder taking the checkered flag victory, holding the kart of Jessica James to a second place finish. Cordie Burkman managed to hand on to the lead in the Yard Kart Class, finishing ahead of Taylor Burge who came in second. The Jr. Sportsman Champ Class was won by Brandt Barksdale with Steven Sullinger coming in second. The Jr. Stock Class had Paden Gray taking the checkered flag for the feature win, holding the kart of Samantha Gargus to a second place finish.

In the A Class Springs, Joey Moon took his first victory at SEMO Raceway, holding Les Riley to second.
