SIKESTON - Three high school classes elected officers Tuesday. Freshmen officers are Robert Lee, president; Eleanor McClure, vice president; and John Ensor, secretary-treasurer. Sophomore: Joe O'Connor, president; Phil Bowman, vice president; Mildred Lambert, secretary; and Billy Wagner, treasurer. Juniors: Wayne Ables, president; Lowell Greer, vice president; Sherry Winford, secretary; and Rachel Honeycut, treasurer.

SIKESTON - A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ira Merideth of Sikeston Oct. 19 at the Sikeston General Hospital. On the same day, a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Lan F. Coots.


SIKESTON - The Hannah Class of First Baptist Church met in the home of Mrs. David Mulcahy for a Halloween social Tuesday night, Oct. 17, with nine members and one guest present.

SIKESTON - Sandra K. Lowry, registered respiratory therapist, thinks Southeast Missouri is the place to come for innovative care in respiratory therapy. Lowry, department head of respiratory therapy at Missouri Delta Community Hospital, has been in Sikeston since January and is more than pleased with the concern respiratory therapy is given.

CHARLESTON - It was a sweet victory for the Charleston High girls tennis team and one a long time coming. The Lady Blue Jays ended Chaffee's long reign as the Class 3A District champions Saturday, beating the Lady Red Devils 20 1/2-17 1/2 at the Southeast Missouri State University tennis court.


SIKESTON - The Sikeston JV volleyball team won its own round robin tournament Saturday over New Madrid County Central. The Sikeston JV (9-3-1) actually split with NMCC 11-15 and 15-19.
