Garrett wins bass tourney

SMITHLAND - The Bootheel Bassbusters held their seventh tournament of the year on Sept. 9 at Smithland Pool on the Ohio River. Ty Garrett won the tournament with four fish weighing 5 lbs., 10 oz.

Stan Pace was second with 4 lbs., 13 oz., and also caught the big bass of the tournament, a 2 lbs., 10 oz. fish. Leven Cox was third with 4 lbs., 1 oz.

John Bollinger won the club's "Lucky Drawing."

Pace maintained his lead in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 714 points. Jerry Dement is second with 524 points and Garrett moved into third with 413 points.

The club travels to Lake Guntersville in Alabama on Oct. 6-7 for their final tournament of the year.
