SIKESTON -- Two suspects are in custody in connection with a strong armed robbery reported on Monday.
According to the victim, Marquitte Garner, two suspects approached him at about 4:20 p.m. and forcibly stole $180 from him in the 100 block of Petty Street. The victim, who was working as a door-to-door salesman in the area, reported the proceeds as funds he had made selling cleaning solutions to home owners.
During the investigation by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, two men were identified and subsequently arrested shortly after the incident. Arrested were Rogeric Johnson, 19, and Albert Patterson, 42, both of Sikeston. Both men were charged by Scott County Prosecutor Cristy Baker-Neel with second degree robbery and are currently being held on $150,000 bond each.
