SIKESTON -- David Richard Clayton Sr., 67, died at 11:20 a.m. Feb. 11, 2008, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
Born March 1, 1940, in St. Louis, he was an over the road truck driver and had worked for more than 20 years with Newman Trucking Co. in St. Louis. He was a member of Trinity Chapel and a former member of the Moose Lodge and Odd Fellows and Rebekka Lodge. He had also lived in St. Louis, Oklahoma and Arizona.
On Aug. 9, 1974, in St. Louis, he married Charlotte Marie Hubbard, who survives of the home.
Survivors in addition to his wife include: his mother, Dolcie Clayton Thompson of Ogden, Utah; one son and daughter-in-law, David R. and Angela Marie Clayton Jr. of Sikeson; one daughter and son-in-law, Crissy and Darrell Wright of Grove, Okla.; and two brothers, Douglas Thompson of Tulsa, Okla. and Perry Thompson of Salt Lake City; and three grandchildren, Ariel Wright and Cheyenne Wright of Grove and Alexander Clayton of Sikeston.
His stepfather, Marvin Thompson, preceded him in death.
Visitation will from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at the Trinity Chapel Church, with the Rev. Elizabeth Banks officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blodgett Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Jamie Hubbard, Darrell Wright, Virgil Hubbard, Jeffrey Hubbard, Jim Glover and Gary Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers will be: Sgt. Ben Hubbard and Chris Hubbard.
