SIKESTON - Sikeston High School's Bulldogs finished the T formation for the first time this season after the half of the football game with the Mules and Poplar Bluff Friday night and came back in a sea of mud to score a 13-13 tie. D.B. Waggener scored one touchdown pass, which was caught by Wayne Ables. Reece Matthews kicked the extra punt.

ORAN - Dr. Mark F. Scully, president of Southeast Missouri State College at Cape Girardeau will be the principal speaker at the dedication of the handsome new elementary school plant for Scott County School District R III at Oran next Sunday, beginning at 2 p.m.

SIKESTON - In an effort to help the Board of Municipal Utilities meet rising costs, the Sikeston City Council Monday night unanimously approved an ordinance that increased water and sewer charges effective Nov. 1.


CHARLESTON - Bill Purnell of Charleston, area extension youth specialist, received the award for outstanding area extension specialist during the annual conference of the Extension Division at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

SIKESTON - Dr. Keith Schafer, chief executive officer for the Missouri Department of Mental Health, is the featured speaker for the Second Annual Citizens Home mission Outreach Center banquet. The banquet is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at Pagoda Gardens.


SIKESTON - The students at the Sikeston DAEOC Head Start will start school at a new location Tuesday. The Head Start is moving from the old Lincoln School to the former Missouri State Family Services building at 103 Kathleen.
