New Madrid resident hurt in accident

MALDEN - A two-vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon resulted in moderate injuries to a New Madrid County woman.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 1 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. 62 at Route 25, one-half mile east of Malden. Vicky E. Johnston, 46, of Parma was driving east when she pulled into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by John G. Riddell, 18, also of Parma.

Riddell's pickup truck was struck in the left front by Johnston's vehicle.

Sheila McCarthy, a passenger in Johnston's vehicle, was transported by ambulance to Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter.
