SIKESTON - Seven people were arrested on various civil disobedience charges near Luther and Osage streets when a crowd formed and became unruly after a man was arrested on assault and drug charges.
The names of those arrested are being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
The incident began around 9 p.m. Monday when Department of Public Safety officers responded to a report of someone breaking out the rear glass in a vehicle using a slingshot and a ball bearing injuring an infant in the back seat of the vehicle.
DPS officers reportedly found a gun on the suspect during the arrest as well.
