SIKESTON - Mrs. Glen Keher will leave this Tuesday for Florida to join her husband, Ensign Keher, who is training at Port Pierce, with the amphibious branch of the Navy. Mrs. Keher has been a ground school instructor at the Missouri Institute of Aeronautics for the past year, the only woman instructor in this Army flight training area.
BENTON - Because the interest aroused by the hotly contested race for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination between Lt. Gov. Hilary A. Bush and Secretary of State Warren E. Hearnes and the equally torrid battles being waged by candidates for Scott County offices, some observers predict that Tuesday's primary election will bring out a bigger than usual number of voters.
SIKESTON - Barbara Cuff of Kennett accepted the keys to a 1984 Dodge Aries from Keith Ziegenhorn of Ziegenhorn Insurance after sinking a hole-in-one at the Sikeston Country Club. Cuff's ace was on the 161-yard 10th hold, a par-3. She was competing in the Elizabeth Arden Charity Golf Classic.
SIKESTON - More than 20 potential players participated in the junior high football camp, which concluded Friday. Sikeston varsity assistant football coach Brent Keefer stressed fundamentals of the game during the camp.
