ADVANCE - Lowell B. Stephens, 81, died Aug. 4, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 19, 1922, at McGee, son of the late James and Leada Trafford Stephens, he was a rural mail carrier in Advance for 33 years before retiring. A U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Advance Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include: one son, Doug Stephens of Marble Hill; one daughter, Jeanne Pettit of Perkins; a brother, Claude Stephens of Advance; two sisters, Trella Shirrell of Advance and Opha Young of St. Louis; and seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, David Stephens.
Visitation is from 9 a.m. Aug. 13 until time for a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance. The Rev. Brad Moore will officiate.
Full graveside military rites will be conducted at the McGee New Hope Cemetery in McGee.
