LILBOURN - Melissa Christina "Missy" Robinson, 16, died Aug. 4, 2004, of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Benton.

Born June 15, 1988, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Peter Glenn Robinson of Dexter and the late Martha Hampton Robinson, she was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in New Madrid. A junior at Richland High School in Essex, where she was an honor student, she had been a junior high cheerleader, played softball and was an officer for the Future Teachers Association and the Library Club. She was also a member of the Future Business Leaders of America, Beta Club, Family Career and Community Leaders of America and the Student Council.

Survivors in addition to her father include: two sisters, Sarah Robinson of Branson and Emily Robinson of Lilbourn; paternal grandparents, James and Barbara Robinson of Lilbourn; one brother, James Glenn Robinson of Dexter; and her maternal grandparents, Lloyd and Hazel Pratt of Sikeston.

Visitation begins at 5 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston, where a rosary is scheduled for 7 p.m.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop, pastor, officiating.

Burial will follow in Mounds Park Cemetery near Lilbourn.

Pallbearers will be: Clint Hampton, Ronnie Hampton, Clay Mattison, Dustin Mattison, Matt Malloy and Eric Williams.
