Accident reported by authorities

BENTON - According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at approximately 7:40 a.m. Thursday three miles south of Benton on State Highway 77, the 1995 Peterbilt driven westbound by Allen Coons, 48, of Hamilton, Ala., attempted to make a left turn and pulled into the path of the eastbound 1993 Ford driven by Jenine Choate, 25, of Scott City.

Coons was issued a summons for failure to yield. Choate was treated at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau for minor injuries.
