SPEAKOUT

Call 471-6636

I'm calling about Halloween. I think people who will be giving out candy this year should have a porch light on and those who will not be giving out candy should leave their porch light off and the door shut. This will be more convenient for the children. They can go to the houses with a light on and pass by the ones without a light, so they don't disturb the people who are sleeping and stuff.

You don't have to print this if you don't want to, but whoever wrote the comment that the NAACP or Black Panthers ought to be on the terrorist list, if you don't have anything nice to say about anyone, you should not say anything at all.

This is to the racist, hater. This is what you have to be. I'm a white person. God has created us all equal. We're all going to be in heaven together if we're saved. I think where you put in there that the NAACP and Black Panthers ought to be on the terrorist list, I think you ought to get on your knees and ask God to forgive you, because we're all of one blood and we're all created equal. I work with a bunch of black people and I couldn't be treated any better. To tell you the truth, some of them treat me better than the white people. Ask God to save you first and forgive you of your sins.

I would like to SpeakOut about the Oct. 17, "A growing list," where someone said the NAACP and Black Panthers should be added to the terrorist list. I don't think so. There's no way these two organizations are for terrorism and would ever do any harm to anyone in this country unnecessarily. I would like to SpeakOut about O.J. Simpson. Where does the public come up with that he should be in jail anyway? That's supposed to be for the judge and jury. When did the public become judge and jury?

This is responding to the person printing "A growing list." The list grows on. I think the Ku Klux Klan should be on the terrorist list.

Whoever made the statement that the NAACP and Black Panthers ought to be on the terrorist list must be Ku Klux Klan themselves. Whoever printed this mess from this paper must be a Ku Klux Klan member.

I'm calling about the person who said they should put the NAACP and Black Panthers on the terrorist list. Well, while they're at it, I think they should also put the KKK and Skinheads on it.

Today in SpeakOut I read where a Christian parent was quite upset due to the fact that our libraries and schools make the Harry Potter books available to our children. This Christian parent continued to say that because this author has written adult books on witchcraft and sorcery, we shouldn't allow this because we should take a stand against evil, especially in days like these. First of all, not all parents are Christian. We do live in the United States. So I don't understand why this was so important for this parent to express. Secondly, just because I'm not a Christian does not mean I am evil and that the books I allow my children to read are evil. Thirdly, in days like these with all the reality we get on television, radio and in the newspaper, a little fiction could do us all some good. Lastly, I ask this Christian parent not to speak so ill of someone in something you don't know anything about. Even Christians are supposed to believe and follow a general rule of thumb to judge not, lest ye be judged.
