CAROLINA PINES, N.C. - Grover H. Lewis Jr., died Nov. 11, 2001, at his home.
Born June 29, 1929, in Sikeston, Mo., son of the late Grover H. and Commie Gillum Lewis, he retired as a lieutenant colonel with the U.S. Army and served in Korea and Vietnam. After retiring from the service, he held positions with the National Automobile Dealers Association and John Hancock Life Insurance.
His wife, Elouise George Lewis, survives of the home.
Other survivors include: one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Deborah Lewis of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Mark Gruber of Atlanta; two sisters, Mildred Nicholson and Mae Johnson of Sikeston; and four grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the family home.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at the Memorial Chapel at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in New Bern, N.C.
