SIKESTON - Dixie Schuerenberg Dade, 78, died at 4:45 a.m. Nov. 5, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Born Aug. 12, 1923, in Kewanee, daughter of the late Charles G. and Mary B. Woods Schuerenberg, she was a registered nurse at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and administrator of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Missouri before retiring. She and her second husband created and sold handmade porcelain dolls and she was a member of the Doll Club in St. Louis, St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.
On Aug. 12, 1943, in St. Louis, she married Ralph Helms who preceded her in death on June 7, 1945.
She and Cidney Dade were married Nov. 6, 1953, in St. Louis, and he died on Nov. 15, 1993.
Survivors include: one stepdaughter, Jane K. Helms Hudson of Carbondale, Ill.; one brother, Walter Schuerenberg of Garland, Texas; three sisters, Carol St. Mary of New Madrid, Iva Dill of Emmelle, Ala., and Farrie Snow of Kewanee; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
One brother and five sisters also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, where the Daughters of Isabella will recite a rosary at 7 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Schneider, pastor, officiating.
Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
