CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Sikeston's freshman basketball team beat Notre Dame twice on Wednesday night, winning the A-game 48-42 and the B-game 53-39.
In the A-game, Josh Alvarado led the Bulldogs with 18 points, followed by Felante Larry with nine, Brandon Williams with five, Marcos McCauley with five and Avis White with three.
Matt Limbaugh, Johnny Bland and Thomas Elery each scored two points, while Tyler Woodson contributed one.
Brinkmeyer paced Notre Dame with 16.
In the B-game, White led Sikeston's scoring attack with 19 points. McCauley finished with eight, followed by Bland with six, Julius Green with five and Limbaugh with four.
Larry, Williams, Woodson and Brandon Cole each scored two, while Elery contributed one. For Notre Dame, Davis led all scorers with two.
Sikeston (6-8) will travel to Twin Rivers next Monday.
JACKSON -- The New Madrid County Central Middle School ninth grade team defeated Farmington in the semifinals of the Jackson Tournament, 53-42.
Mario Dye led NMCCMS with 13 points, followed by Cooper with 12, Rose with nine, Long with seven and Williamson with six. Newsome and Jones each scored two, while Tipler and McFarland each contributed one.
King led all Farmington scorers with 24.
NMCCMS (7-1) will face the winner of a Cape Central-Jackson game in the championship on Saturday.
