Arrests made in connection with robbery

SIKESTON -- Two people have been arrested in connection with a robbery that occured Sunday evening.

Jeremy Beedle, 18, and John Yeager, 22, both of Sikeston were arrested and charged with robbery in the second degree by Scott County Prosecutor Cristy Baker-Neel. Both are currently being held in Sikeston, awaiting transfer to Scott County under $25,000 bond.

Beedle and Yeager were arrested after allegedly robbing a cab driver. According to reports, a cab driver reported that after giving Beedle and Yeager a ride, they forcibly stole approximately $15 in cash from him as they were being dropped off on School Street. After stealing the money, Beedle and Yeager fled on foot.

After obtaining a description of the suspects, Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers and detectives located the pair near Smith and Fifth Street. One suspect fled and the other was taken into custody. The second was later apprehended at his residence.
