Traffic accidents reported

POPLAR BLUFF - The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported accidents Thursday which resulted in injuries to two area residents.

The first accident, reported at 2:55 p.m. in Scott County on Deal Street in Diehlstadt, occurred when Linda A. Burns, 50, of Charleston, was driving north and attempted to make a left turn onto South Julia Street, driving into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Derick A. Bramlett, 18, of Sikeston.

Burns sustained moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

A one-vehicle accident reported at 5:20 p.m. resulted in moderate injuries to the driver. Marsa D. Mitchell, 36, of Charleston, was driving on Route N, eight miles west of Charleston in Scott County, when her vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the roadway. Mitchell overcorrected the vehicle, which then ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a utility pole.

She was also transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center.
