Sikeston Standard Democrat: High School Sports: Dement takes first in BassBuster tourney (07/29/04)

LAKE MARINA, Ky. -- The Bootheel BassBusters held their sixth tournament of the year on July 18th out of KenLake Marina on Kentucky Lake.

Kenny Dement won the tournament with a six fish limit weighing 12 lbs. 12 oz. Leven Cox was second with a six fish limit weighing 11 lbs. 13 oz. and Travis Garrett was third with four fish weighing 8 lbs. 6 oz.

John Bollinger caught the big bass of the day, a 4 lb. 11 oz. smallmouth bass. Jim Sindle won the "Lucky Drawing" for the second consecutive tournament.

Ty Garrett leads in the Angler-of-the-Year race with 982 points. Leven Cox is second with 962 points and Kenny Dement is third with 780 points.

The club travels to Lake Barkley on August 15th for a tournament out of the Devils' Elbow ramp.
