Wanda Northern

BERTRAND - Wanda A. Northern, 67, died at 12:05 a.m. July 25, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

Born Aug. 26, 1936, in Mississippi County, daughter of the late William A. and Lola Irene Slinkard Howton, she was a licensed practical nurse with the Visiting Nurse Association Private Duty Nursing Services for several years. She had lived in Mississippi County most of her life and was a member of the Cornerstone General Baptist Church of Bertrand.

Survivors include: two sons, Bobby Northern of Sikeston and Robbin Northern of Marble Hill; two daughters, Angela Fabing of Farmington and Sandra Orcutt of Cape Girardeau; one brother, William Howton of Wyoming, Del.; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, where services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Lee Fansler of Sikeston will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston. Pallbearers will be: Tony Hooper, Robert Heppe, Jason Boyer, Doug Pullen, Stephen McConkey and James Ware.

Honorary pallbearers will be: W.C. "Dub" Groves and Lorne Huff.
