Eighth graders split

SIKESTON --Sikeston's eighth grade girls basketball team split with Poplar Bluff on Tuesday night.

The Lady Bulldogs won the A-game 35-31, with Allison Blurton scoring 14 points, followed by Paige Silverthorn with 13. Sikeston lost the B-game to the Lady Mules 38-17. Blair Shipps and Jamie Romo each scored four points.

On Monday, Sikeston split with Cape Central. The A-team won 30-20, with Silverthorn pouring in 14 points. The B-team lost 36-16, and was led by Amber Anthony's eight points.

Sikeston's A-team improves to 7-3 on the year, while the B-team falls to 1-5. Sikeston's eighth grade team will travel to Dexter on Thursday.
