SIKESTON - Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Robertson have announced the birth of a son on July 9 at Sweetwater, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson formerly resided in Sikeston.

SIKESTON - James W. Repp and his wife, Ann Elizabeth, have been appointed graduate assistants in physical education effective Sept. 1 at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Approval was announced by President Elmer Ellis. The Repps will serve on the faculty while each works toward a master's degree in physical education.

CHARLESTON - The Sikeston Bulldogs defeated the Sikeston Cardinals 10-0 Wednesday night to capture the 9-and-10-year-old championship in the Charleston Invitational Tournament. The Bulldogs got to the finals by defeating Benton No. 2 10-4 on Monday night.

LILBOURN - Students in the third graduating class at Bright Beginnings, a Christian day care center for children up to kindergarten age, participated in a ceremony May 26 at Lilbourn United Methodist Church. This year's graduates are: Drew Weeks, Micah Nesselrodt, Joseph Duncan, Sean Buck, Elizabeth Branum and Jared Tittle. These students will begin kindergarten in the fall.

SIKESTON - Three Sikeston residents were injured in a two-car accident at 2:44 p.m. Friday on Highway 61 North and Salcedo Road. According to DPS reports, a vehicle driven by Regina Anderson failed to yield at an intersection and was struck by another vehicle driven by Stacy Welch. Both drivers and an occupant in the Welch vehicle were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center.
