BROSELEY -- Kelly won the consolation championship of the 5th Annual Lady Royals Holiday Classic Blue Division Thursday night, beating out Clearwater, 47-44.
"It was a very tough division," said Kelly coach Rod McQuerter. "I'm very proud that the girls were able to come out and win the consolation championship. They played hard and played as a team."
Bridgett Riley led all scorers with 25 points, followed by Dana Essner with 12 and Christy Kluesner with 7.
Amanda Berry paced Clearwater with 18.
The Lady Hawks (8-2) will be back in action Jan. 7, competing in the Scott-Mississippi Conference Tournament.
"Over the break we're mainly going to work on fundamentals," said McQuerter.
Kelly was put in the consolation bracket after losing to Charleston in the first round of the tournament.
