Beulah Wheeler

SIKESTON - Beulah Mae Wheeler, 84, formerly of Portageville, died Dec. 3, 2001, at her home.

She was born May 7, 1917, at Ridgely, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William and Kate Ferrell Burress.

In 1931, at Portageville, she married William Wheeler who preceded her in death on June 24, 1972.

Survivors include: seven sons, Marion Wheeler and Melvin Wheeler of Lilbourn, Randall Wheeler of Waco, Calif., Bobby Wheeler of Appleton, Larry Wheeler of Colona, Ill., Johnny Wheeler of Memphis, Tenn., and Terry Wheeler of Portageville; two daughters, Pat Marshall of Colona and Faye Parker of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Jimmy Burress and Richard Burress of Kokomo, Ind.; one sister, Esther Thompson of Willow Springs; and 34 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Billy Wayne Wheeler; one daughter, Valerie Wheeler; and four sisters, Luda Mae Clark, Elsie Clutts, Christine Lydol and Opal Perkins.

Friends may from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday at DeLisle Funeral Home in Portageville, where services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Wayne Tribble, officiating.

Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
