Looking for help

Cell phones are only valuable when you are buying them. When you try to sell them, they are almost worthless. Here's a way to put your old cell phones to good use and get a tax deduction at the same time.

On Saturday, December 8 the New Madrid County Center High School Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be at Sikeston Wal-Mart collecting old cell phones from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m.

These phones will be given to The Center for Family Resources in Malden. The Center serves victims of domestic violence in New Madrid and the other Bootheel counties. The donated phones will be given to victims of domestic violence as a "Lifeline" in case of emergency. Cell phones are capable of dialing 911 without going through a provider.

These donations are tax deductible. The Center will provide receipts. Wireless Retail will be on hand to deactivate the cell phones if needed.

Please bring the chargers and batteries with the phones. If you would like to donate before or after this event call Dempsey Craft at New Madrid High School (688-2165) or at 748-2055.

Thank you,

Dempsey Craft
