Accident reported by authorities

DIEHLSTADT - The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a one-vehicle accident Tuesday which resulted in moderate injuries to a Sikeston man.

The accident occurred at 5:40 p.m. as Robert P. Johnson was driving north on Scott county Highway 77, one-half mile south of Diehlstadt. According to the report, Johnson failed to negotiate a curve, traveled off the roadway and struck a mobile home. His vehicle then continued traveling and struck a fence before coming to rest in a field.

Johnson was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
