PORTAGEVILLE - Jewell Irene Johnson, 84, died July 19, 2004, at her home.
Born April 3, 1929, in Savannah, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Will and Lola Caroline Bowen McMahan.
On April 1, 1935, at Hayward, she married Kenneth Johnson who preceded her in death in 1978.
Survivors include: seven sons and six daughters-in-law, Osker "Bud" and Nan Johnson, Bob and Pat Johnson, Don and Patty Johnson and Mike and Kristi Johnson of Portageville, Ken Johnson of DuQuoin, Ill., John and Karen Johnson of Jonesboro, Ark., and Gene and Alice Johnson of Elizabethtown, Ky.; four daughters and two sons-in-law, Joyce Johnson of Pima, Ariz., Lois and Willard Fincher of Sikeston and Dinah Maness and Kay and Dennis Cook of Portageville; two brothers, James Allen McMahan of Hayti and Ethel Huston McMahan of Pascola; and 36 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Dennis Johnson and Charlie Gale Johnson; one daughter, Jewell Marie Stafford; two brothers, John McMahan and Charlie McMahan; one sister, Josephine Duncan; two sons-in-law, Junior Maness and Lorn Johnson; one daughter-in-law, Judy Johnson; and two grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 6 p.m. today at DeLisle Funeral Home, where services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday. The Revs. Dewayne Roberts and Mark Inman will officiate.
Burial will follow in the Portageville Cemetery.
